The US postal service bought several of these (actually, the slightly larger “van” version) for mail delivery in the early 80s. There was a warranty dispute w/ the manufacturer and the trucks were mothballed. The USPS website says they were used in south Florida. I guess after they were mothballed they moved them all over the place because I remember a parking lot full of them in Arlington Texas in the mid 80s. They were just sitting unused, but they were there for a few years at least.
